Union Hospital Ranked 14th in America's Most Beautiful Hospitals

ATLANTA, GA (July 7, 2011) - Soliant Health, a leading specialty healthcare staffing provider and part of Adecco Group, is proud to announce that Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center of Midlothian, Virginia was named America's Most Beautiful Hospital by Soliant.com visitors.

The contest, which is in its third year, turned this year's choice over to America and after almost 70,000 votes, Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center took the top spot. Opened in 2005, this welcoming state-of-the-art facility offers the latest in digital technology while embracing an architectural celebration of the American spirit. The building's peaceful gardens and paths provide a restful and contemplative environment for patients, families, staff and the community.

Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana, was first named to the top 20 list in 2010 and ranked 14 this year. The judges made the following comments: "According to Modern Healthcare magazine, Terre Haute's Union Hospital provides one of the country's best work environments for its employees. And it's easy to see how from a visual perspective: This is not only one of the best looking hospital interiors in the U.S. but – in our opinion – one of the coolest looking ones as well."

"We are honored to have made the top 20 list for the past two years as one of America's Most Beautiful Hospitals by Soliant's website competition and it means a lot to us that the community would vote for us to make this happen," said Scott Teffeteller, Union Hospital President and CEO.

Union Hospital made history with the single largest construction project in Terre Haute, its new $185 million, four-story, expansion and renovation project. Completion of the new Union Hospital East construction occurred in November 2009 and it opened in January 2010. With the completion of the new construction, Union Hospital has 380 private rooms for inpatient and outpatient use.

"We are pleased to give our community a better designed and more spacious hospital with private rooms, convenient access and better parking. It is an environment much more conducive to health and healing. Our vision is for Union Hospital to be among the best hospitals in our class in the country, not just in Indiana or in this area," said Teffeteller.
